Workday customers with employees in India can now purchase India payroll through a single Workday contract and run it within the Workday experience, with Neeyamo's payroll technology managing local statutory compliance.
For multinationals that have standardized on Workday Human Capital Management (HCM), this closes a familiar gap. What the Offering Includes
- A single Workday contract. India payroll is purchased directly through Workday, alongside your existing Workday subscription.
- Certified integration. The offering is built on Workday Global Payroll Connect (GPC), Workday's API-based standard for real-time, bi-directional data exchange with partner payroll systems.
- Synchronized HR and payroll data. Workday HCM and Neeyamo Payroll stay aligned, so payroll runs on the same employee data your HR team manages in Workday.
- Localized statutory updates and compliance support, managed through Neeyamo Payroll.
- Optional managed services. Organizations that want end-to-end payroll operations can engage Neeyamo separately for implementation and managed payroll services.
Built on a Certified Foundation
The launch builds on a milestone from December 2025, when Neeyamo achieved Workday Certified Integration status for Global Payroll Connect. Neeyamo is certified across all five GPC features:

Why India Payroll Needs Local Expertise
India payroll combines central and state-level obligations. Provident Fund (PF), Employees' State Insurance (ESI), and income tax deducted at source (TDS) apply nationally, while professional tax and labor welfare fund contributions vary from state to state.
The rules are also changing. India's four Labour Codes, which consolidate 29 central labour laws, came into force on November 21, 2025. Under the new definition of wages, basic pay, dearness allowance, and retaining allowance must make up at least 50% of total remuneration. This widens the base on which PF and gratuity are calculated, and many employers have had to revisit their salary structures. State-level rules continue to be notified in phases.
For a global payroll team, keeping pace with these changes from outside the country is difficult.
